Motorola has announced plans to open an Android applications store, Shop4Apps, in China to further meet the demands of Chinese consumers.
Motorola said it will also develop the core market of Android programs in China, but it denied the new move has anything to do with the previous rumor that Google may leave the Chinese market.
Before this, Google was reportedly postponing development of the gPhone based on its Android operating system with China Unicom. Motorola is also a participant in this project.
At present, Motorola has launched two Android-based devices in China and its Shop4Apps applications store is expected to be opened on Feburary 14, during the Chinese New Year.
In addition, Motorola has signed a search experience agreement with the Chinese search engine Baidu.com.
