Chinese Internet and online game services provider NetEase.com has launched its first free-of-charge voice software “NetEase CC”, which is currently undergoing beta tests.
According to the development team of this new product, this newly released public beta test edition of NetEase CC has improved voice quality and user experience. It will also add a batch of top-level servers soon to make full hardware preparation for a large scale expansion while maintaining the high voice quality. The official website for this new product, CC.163.com, was launched along with the public beta test edition.
NetEase.com said that NetEase CC will accelerate in-depth cooperation with its online game products in 2010. At present, there are two cooperation models between NetEase CC and online games: one is to make NetEase CC a built-in function for online games that allows online game users to start the voice service with one-touch operation; and the other is to embed online games into the client of NetEase CC, through which users will be able to login to related online games.
In addition, recent rumors from local media state that NetEase.com is planning to launch its micro-blogging service — similar to Twitter.com — this week. NetEase.com will become the second major Chinese Internet portal that launched this type of service after rival Sina.com.
