HUBS1, the official hotel reservations service provider and sponsor for 2010 World Expo, announced the hotel reservation website for World Expo Shanghai Expotia.com officially is now online after a one-month trial operation.
Expotia.com has resources of about 300,000 rooms per night which has covered almost all the star-rated and economy hotels of famous brands in the Shanghai municipality, according to an official of HUBS1. If taken in hotels that are two or three hours’ drive from Shanghai, there are a total of 400,000 to 500,000 rooms per night that can be booked via the system.
Since its trial operation in February, Expotia.com has now accepted total reservations of 230,000 room nights, among which 40% are group bookings. Economy, four-star and five-star hotels are quite popular, while three-star hotels are currently less popular.
Besides hotel reservation, Expotia.com also provides services like World Expo ticket booking, introductions to pavilions, performance updates, an events directory, popular tourist attractions and other relevant information. Tourists are also able to query the modes of transportation between various tourist attractions.
