Following the cooperation with Taiwan-based King Rex Hi Media for the operation of Gold Land in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, the Chinese mainland online game developer and operator Giant Interactive Group has recently reached agreements with six other companies to jointly operate this webgame on Chinese mainland.
The six companies are Shanda, Renren.com, PPLive, Pipi.cn, Tianya.cn, and Helegame.com. At the same time, it is the first time for the two Chinese online game giants, Giant and Shanda, to jointly operate an online game.
With the cooperation, Giant’s Gold Land will reportedly create special game zones for its partners and the webgame will formally access to the platforms of these partners to share user resources and services with each other.
Giant has been promoting cooperation within the industry and hopes that the cooperation platform will offer more quality works to Chinese game players. Its new alliance with the six partners represents for the industry’s recognition of this new webgame, which is expected to have a good prospect.
Gold Land, which cost CNY10 million for development over the past two years, has published its latest extension last week and its special zones designed for partners will be successively opened around mid-April, 2010.
