Former Vice Director Of Google China Engineering Research Institute Will Join Baidu.com

According to an insider from the Chinese search engine company Baidu.com, Wang Jin, former vice director of Google China Engineering Research Institute, will join Baidu.com as vice president for technology, making him the first top Google China executive to join Baidu.com in recent months.

In his new position, Wang will reportedly participate in the management and construction of Baidu’s search engine research and development team in Beijing. However, the company did not reveal the detailed areas that Wang will be responsible for or to whom will he report.

Wang is currently unavailable for comment. Prior to this, rumors were that Wang would join Tencent, the Chinese instant messaging and Internet value-added services providers.

Over the recent years, Wang worked successively for many technology companies, including Oracle, Alibaba, eBay, and Google.
