China’s NetEase.com Boasts 360 Million Email Users

Chinese Internet company NetEase.com has recently announced that the number of its email users has reached 360 million, a net increase of 40 million from 320 million at the end of 2010.

A representative from NetEase.com’s email division told local media that in the future, NetEase.com will establish its email business into a new communication platform that integrates communication, sharing, and collaboration. The company will provide users with better and more stable services by continuous upgrading and technical innovations.

Since the beginning of 2011, NetEase.com has accelerated the development of its email business. On January 20, it announced the improvement of the SMTP sending speed of its three major email brands; on January 24, it announced the increase of uploading speed of attachments by three times; and on March 25, it announced the completion of its nationwide layout of distributed servers and remarkably raised the uploading speed of large attachments.

NetEase.com launched the first Chinese-language email system in China in 1997 and it has successfully operated the email business for 13 years. It now has eight email brands, including 163.com, 126.com, yeah.net, vip.163.com, vip.126.com, vip.188.com, a professional enterprise email, and a free enterprise email.
