Asus’ Products To Have Embedded Sohu.com Videos

The Internet video channel of the Chinese Internet portal Sohu.com and the Taiwan-based PC maker Asus have jointly announced that the two parties have formed a strategic partnership for a video service.

Under the agreement of the two parties, Sohu’s video contents will be implanted into Asus’ products, covering PCs and tablet computers. Meanwhile, they will implement a comprehensive cooperation in brand, content, and operation. The strategic cooperation is expected to promote the seamless integration between Internet video services and hardware products, providing a one-stop digital entertainment experience to users.

Liu Chun, chief operating officer of Sohu’s video business, said that the strategic cooperation between Sohu and Asus represents the trend of opening and merging of industry chains. At the same time, both high-quality video contents and hardware products are necessary to provide users with the best possible video services.

During the launch meeting, Asus displayed its new table product EeePad Transformer Prime, which adopts the licensed high definition contents provided by Sohu video. So far, the two parties have completed tests of content output, client access, and play interface.
