Google Invests In New Taiwanese Data Center

Google announced that its new data center in Changhua, Taiwan, has started construction and it is expected to be launched in the second half of 2013.

With an investment of USD300 million, this is reportedly Google’s third data center in Asia and it is a part of Google’s USD700 million investment plans in Taiwan.

Google’s other two Asian data centers are located in Singapore and Hong Kong, which are also undergoing construction. Google plans to complete the construction of these two projects at the beginning of 2013. According to the company, the new data center in Changhua will be the first data center that can save energy via nocturnal cooling and heat energy storage systems.

With the establishment of the new data center, Google will hire new employees from local areas in Taiwan and the company has already placed recruitment notices for several positions on the Internet. In addition, the new data center is expected to offer more rapid and reliable services to users in Taiwan.
