Inspur Launches Public Security Cloud Computing Center For Local Chinese Government

China’s Inspur Group has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Public Security Bureau of Jinan in Shandong province to launch the first public security cloud computing center in China.

In 2012, the Ministry of Public Security of China issued work guidance for communications equipment construction projects, which stated that the construction of police service-related cloud computing centers was included in the construction planning. The launch of this new public security cloud computing center represents Jinan Public Security Bureau’s innovation in the public security area by applying cloud computing and the Internet of things technologies.

The public security cloud computing center is based on four networks, including the public security internal network, the Internet, a special imaging network, and a secure access network. Meanwhile, it depends on five platforms, including a storage platform, network platform, security platform, application platform, and management platform, to establish an energy-saving, effective, secure, and reliable cloud computing center.

With the launch of the center, about 154 application systems and three billion pieces of data information will all run on the cloud computing platform. The system’s background management work, which previously cost half a month, can now apparently be completed in ten minutes.

The successful opening of the Jinan public security cloud computing center will be a demonstration project for the nationwide public security information construction in China, so we should soon see more PSBs using the cloud in China.
