Shanda Games Appoints New President

China’s Shanda Games announced they have appointed Qian Donghai, former senior vice president for business development of Shanda Games, as the new president.

Qian joined Shanda Games in 2009 as vice president for business development, and he was promoted to senior vice president in 2011. Prior to joining Shanda Games, he worked for several South Korean online game companies, including CJ Internet Holdings, Webzen, Wedmade Entertainment, and Actoz Soft.

In addition, Wu Zhaopu, director of Shanda Games, resigned due to personal reasons. Wu joined Shanda Games as director in 2010. Johnson Yao, financial vice president of Shanda Interactive Entertainment Limited, will replace Wu’s position. Yao was appointed financial vice president of Shanda Interactive Entertainment Limited in May 2011.
