China’s Gaming Market Revenue Reached CNY140.7 Billion In 2015

China's online gaming users reached 534 million in 2015, a year-on-year increase of 3.3%, according to the latest report from a trio of game watchers.

During China's Game Industry Annual Conference 2015, the Game Publishers Association Publications Committee of the China Audio-video and Digital Publishing Association, Gamma Data, and IDC jointly published their "2015 Report on the Game Industry of China".

Meanwhile, China's actual sales within the online gaming market, including client-based games, web games, social games, mobile games, console games, and TV games, reached CNY140.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 22.9%.

According to the report, the actual sales of China's self-developed online games increased by 35.8% year-on-year to CNY98.67 billion; while the export actual sales of China's self-developed online games increased by 72.4% to USD5.31 billion.

By market segment, China's client-based game market realized sales of CNY61.16 billion, a year-on-year increase of 0.4%; web game market realized sales of CNY21.96 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.3%; mobile game market realized sales of CNY51.46 billion, a year-on-year increase of 87.2%; console game market realized sales of CNY140 million, a year-on-year increase of 180%; and TV game market realized sales of CNY220 million.

In 2015, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China approved the publishing of about 750 games, of which 11.2% were client-based games; 32.8% were web games; 49.7% were mobile games; and 6.3% were TV games.

In addition, China's listed gaming enterprises reached 171 in 2015, of which 79.6% were listed on China's A-share market; 9.9% were listed in Hong Kong, and 10.5% were listed in U.S.
