MTR Encourages Elders to Participate in Community Activities and Offers Free Rides on Senior Citizen’s Day

Hong Kong, China, November 16, 2017 /ChinaNewswire.com/ - About 100 senior citizens participated in the annual Elderly Programme jointly organised by MTR Corporation and Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) Radio 5 today (15 November 2017) under the theme “Travel Happily Every Day in the MTR”. Participants had a chance to experience the convenience of the South Island Line service from South Horizon Station to Admiralty Station and play interactive games with TV artistes Ms Joyce Cheng, Mr Hubert Wu, Ms Stephanie Ho, Ms Corinna Chamberlain, Mr Hoffman Cheng, Ms Susan Tse and Mr Albert Cheung with railway safety and proper escalator usage as key messages.

The MTR Corporation is also pleased to be supporting Senior Citizen’s Day on 19 November 2017 (Sunday) by offering free rides on MTR, Light Rail and MTR Bus to Elder Octopus cardholders aged 65 and above. No fare will be deducted when senior citizens use their Elder Octopus to enter and exit ticket gates in the MTR. Offer is not applicable for Airport Express or journeys to or from Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau stations. Passengers travelling on East Rail Line First Class will be charged the First Class Premium.
