We all know that MS Dhoni payed tribute to Indian armed forces by sporting army insignia on his gloves. But, the ICC intervened and asked BCCI to ask Dhoni not to sport the insignia on his gloves. But given that MS Dhoni was conferred with the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment and had undergone basic training under the Para Brigade in 2015, we understand why he sported the insignia.
After the ICC’s intervention for the removal of the army insignia, Indian fans took to social media and made a case for MS Dhoni and the insignia.
The ace wicket-keeper was spotted with the regimental dagger – ‘Balidaan Badge’ and it can be worn by personnel who served in the Para Special Forces, and Dhoni had undergone a two-week initial training with the para regiment.
