Australian media monitoring technology provider Isentia (ASX:ISD) is losing its regional director for Southeast Asia at the end of this month. Jason Lee, who currently handles the Aussie firm’s business across six countries and is also on the Sydney-based company’s executive leadership team, has reportedly resigned after nearly 10 years at the company.
In his time with Isentia, Lee previously served as the head of Government business in Singapore, playing a pivotal role in securing the bulk tender with Ministry of Communications and Information, providing media intelligence services on a broad spectrum to all government clients. This remains the single business win for the Isentia group across the entire network. So Lee’s departure from the company leaves a big hole for the company’s Asia growth momentum.
Prior to joining Isentia, Lee also worked at Burson Marsteller.
Lee’s departure comes on the heels of news that Isentia is embroiled in alleged criminal copyright theft in Thailand. In May 2019, Thailand-based Matichon Public Company Limited and its subsidiary, Khao Sod Company Limited, filed a criminal case to The Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court to bring charges against iSentia Bangkok Company Limited and iSentia Monitoring Services (Thailand) Company Limited including their directors for the commercial copyright infringement.
Last month, Lee’s colleague Danny Levinson, who oversaw operations, technology, and products for Isentia, also resigned at the end of his earn-out related to the sale of his Shanghai-based A.I. business to Isentia in 2017. And David Liu, chief executive for Isentia in Asia, departed the company in May 2019.
