The winners of a prominent talent competition in South Korea made their debut as a K-pop group on Tuesday, garnering attention from local netizens.

Kicking off its 5-year career, the 11-member X1 released the mini album “Emergency: Quantum Leap” along with the music video for the lead single “Flash.”
The band’s debut caught the attention of netizens in the Philippines, with the hashtags #X1_Debut and #X1_FLAϟH topping Twitter’s list of local trending topics. Both hashtags also led Twitter’s worldwide trending topics.
The group is composed of the winners of the reality show “Produce X 101,” which aired in South Korea from May to July this year and was the fourth season of the hit “Produce 101” franchise.
In the program, 101 trainees from various entertainment companies are pitted against each other for a spot in the final 11 or 12, determined solely by public voting. The winning contestants will promote as a temporary K-pop group.
The band will follow in the footsteps of previous groups formed through the TV show, namely, I.O.I, Wanna One and IZ*ONE.
