10 Data Innovation Startups Graduate from Facebook Singapore Accelerator

The first cohort of digital technology startups have graduated from the Startup Station Accelerator Program – a partnership between Facebook and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) in Singapore to support data innovation in Asia.

The 10 startups marked their graduation with presentations at the inaugural Startup Station Singapore Demo Day, attended by more than 300 technology developers, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs from across Asia. Startups presented solutions for the healthcare, media, retail, hospitality and tourism sectors, including the application of new technologies including artificial intelligence (AI) as well as Facebook’s developer tools. The graduates included four aspiring Singapore companies.

We know it’s so important to support young businesses and the value of connecting them with specialists in product innovation, business growth and data protection to build a stronger and sustainable startup ecosystem with real impact.”

Startups pitched to venture capital investors and potential partner corporations committed to supporting the startups with investment and partnership opportunities. The startups will now join Facebook’s startup alumni program that will continue to connect them to a global network of startups.

Startup Station Singapore is a partnership between Facebook and the IMDA. It is powered by Rainmaking and is Facebook’s second data innovation startup program globally (after France) and the first in Asia. Singapore was chosen as the location for Startup Station because of the ease of doing business, access to capital and partners and wholehearted commitment to technology and business innovation.

The 10 startups from the first cohort are:

• Allied World Healthcare (Philippines), a social enterprise, sustainably delivering basic healthcare services in underserved communities; filling the gaps where traditional healthcare services don’t reach
• DRVR (Thailand) provides Asia’s fleet management and analytics and is focused on turning Asia’s vehicle fleets into the smartest and most cost-efficient in the world
• Envolve.ai (Singapore), an intuitive end-to-end sensing and analytics service connecting retailers with FMCG manufacturers
• GigaGigs (Malaysia), the app that instantly connects you with micro-tasks (simple, fun and easy-to-do tasks), and pays you upon the completion of these tasks
• Jumper.ai (Singapore): The fastest direct-to-consumer conversational commerce enabler that converts every social media post into a personalised and engaging checkout experience then and there
• Newswav (Malaysia), an online news aggregator and obtains its news from several online sources
• Qlue (Indonesia), a social media app which allows users to report problems directly to the city government and businesses, as well as share information with people around them in order to help create Smart Cities
• QSearch (Taiwan) provides products that enable marketers to analyse social networks for product, brand, or topic trends
• Vouch (Singapore): Supports companies to build high quality, scalable artificial intelligence (AI) digital concierges that help with customer service, marketing, and even loyalty programmes
• Waitrr (Singapore), an ordering and payments app you can use to order takeaway ahead of time to skip the line, or for dining in to skip waiting for service
