Successfully Hold China-Korea (Weihai) E-commerce Cooperation Conference 2019

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA–(Business Wire / Korea Newswire) September 03, 2019 — On August 29th, the China-Korea E-commerce Cooperation Conference was officially held in Qilu Luxury Blue Horizon Hotel, Weihai. This conference was hosted jointly by Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, Weihai Municipal People’s Government and Consulate General of South Korea in Qingdao, sponsored by Weihai Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Administration Committee of Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone, Handu Group and supported by Korea Foreign Trade Association, Association of Korean E-commerce Enterprises and Pusan Economic Revitalization Institute. There were about 400 guests from official institutions and organizations and renowned e-commercial companies of both China and Korea participating in this conference, including 17 specially invited organizations, such as China E-Commerce Association, Chinese International E-Commerce Center and China-Korea Business Research Institute, domestic and international cross-border e-commerce platforms like Alibaba, EBay, Google, Coupang and e-commerce companies including Handu Group, Tongda, Cosmax, etc. Under the theme of “Sharing E-commerce Ecology, Connecting China-Korean Future”, this conference analyzed the status quo of the cross-border e-commerce of China and Korea and focused on the new changes in the industry.

Oriented to the new development tendency of global digital trade, this conference also discussed the new opportunities, challenges, modes and channels, and explored in depth the new direction of development from the perspectives of institutions, associations, capital, platforms, and enterprises. Mr. Park Jin-hsiung, the consul-general of Consulate General of South of Korea in Qingdao noted in his speech that: “I hope through this e-commerce cooperation conference, we can share the cases of successful e-commerce companies, tap into innovative projects and reinforce mutual cooperation”.

Deputy Mayor of Weihai Municipal Government, Yang Li also highlighted in his speech: “In the future, we will work together in collaboration with all parties home and abroad to promote the China-Korea e-commerce cooperation to a larger scale and a higher level and strive to forge Weihai as an international cross-border highland”. Cross-border e-commerce is on its way to grow into an online Silk Road influencing the global economy. With the holding of this conference, more cross-border e-commerce companies of China and Korea will be concentrated for cooperation and communication, which not only helps to push forward the construction of an important hub linking China and Korea to accelerate the internationalization strategy for Weihai, but also deepens the trade cooperation between Chinese and Korean companies, which is definitely beneficial to the development of “Silk Road of E-commerce”.
