Malaysia and Indonesia fans troll each other on social media after 3-2 result and fan violence in FIFA Asian Qualifiers

Crowd trouble was unfortunately the stand out feature as Malaysia managed to beat Indonesia 3-2 in the first leg of their second round FIFA World Cup 2022 Asian Qualifiers match.

A late late goal from Mohamadou Sumareh proved to be the decisive one in this game, and it came as late as the 97′ minute of the match, sending the travelling Malay support into delirium.

If you’re wondering why exactly the game had seven minutes of added time in the first place, refer to our piece on the crowd trouble that led to the game being stopped.

Fan violence resulted in the as many as eight added minutes, and following the winner by Sumareh, Indonesian and Malaysian fans sparred once again on social media.
