DELTA (NEWS 1130) — Revin Aquino was on his way to school in Delta when he says a woman approached him and aggressively accused him of stealing, saying “Filipinos steal.”
Then he started filming.
The video, posted to Facebook Thursday, shows a woman pursuing the young man while shouting, “How much have you stolen?”
The woman then proceeds to wield what looks like a shallow metal bowl, and uses it to strike the young man and his phone several times.
NEWS 1130 has been sent the video.
When Hazel Kurt saw the video she immediately recognized the woman responsible, and reached out to Aquino.
Kurt had a very similar experience at Surrey Central Station this summer.
She encountered the woman in the video in August, while waiting for the bus with her adult son.
The woman unnerved Kurt while at the bus stop with her shouting.
Once on the bus, the woman accused Kurt of stealing.
“I was so surprised she was standing right next to me,” Kurt explains. “She said: ‘You guys, you Filipinos stole something from me.’”
Then Kurt says the woman started shoving her, but her son and another passenger intervened before things got worse.
She was shaken, but got off the bus and headed home.
Aquino has made contact with the Delta police but has not filed a report.
Friday evening, another woman commented on the video describing an incident at Surrey Central Station involving the same woman.
She says the woman shouted at her and her friends while they were in line at a pizza place, saying “Filipinos with the accent should go back to where they came from.”
