Some Facebook users in Vietnam have received the new interface of the desktop version of Facebook.

Facebook revealed a plan to redesign the desktop version of its social media site last year. The company wants to make things less complicated, easier to use, and introduces new features, such as Dark Mode, to the entire site.

As planned, Facebook wants to launch a new version of this interface in March 2020, so the company is starting to deploy it. Invited people see a small notification at the top of Facebook to ask if they want to try the new design. Note that the notification will disappear when users reload or navigate elsewhere.

The new interface uses a responsive design that displays content based on screen width and other parameters. If the width of the browser window is sufficient, Facebook will display the traditional but heavily modified three-column design.

The design has rounded corners and more colors than the current design of Facebook for desktops. The text appears larger and has more space; this can result in lengthy scrolling sessions because less content is shown at a time on the display portion of the screen.

Zooming in, zooming out or resizing the browser window can help show more content on the screen at the same time. The icon bar at the top provides quick access to various sections of the site including homepage, video, market, team and gaming.

Note that Facebook displays a two-column design when the browser width is too small. Which column it displays depends on the page you are on. If you are browsing a feed at home, you can view the feed and the column to the right with its contacts.

Clicking on the new menu icon (three horizontal bars) will show the missing left links.
