Steve Smith was concussed in the second Test against England at Lord’s in 2019 after being hit by Jofra Archer. His substitute comes in to bat in the second innings and gets hit on the front of the helmet straight away off the same bowler. But the batsman gets back on his feet and looks into the eyes of Archer. He goes on to make a gritty half-century thereby helping Australia to draw the Test. He was none other than Marnus Labuschagne.

Labuschagne has emerged as the rock of Australia’s middle-order ever since than and endured one of the best summers last season. His style of batting is exactly like Steve Smith and is now batting at number three for Australia in the ongoing Test series against India. After the hosts lost their first wicket in the form of Matthew Wade, Labuschagne walked in with an aim to play a long innings.

Jasprit Bumrah was steaming in and bowled a good delivery to which the batsman shouldered his arms. However, what followed later was absolutely hilarious. Marnus Labuschagne shouted ‘no run’ at his partner Joe Burns while leaving the ball which also left the commentators in splits. “That is odd behaviour,” Allan Border said while commentating for Fox Cricket.

Labuschagne’s mannerisms are exactly like Smith and many reckon he has copied it from the former Australia skipper. Nevertheless, he has adopted his style really well and more importantly, it has worked for him so far in his short Test career. But his weird actions after leaving the ball and especially, the no run call has led to Twitter roasting him hilariously.

Marnus Labuschagne’s Test career

As far as Marnus Labuschagne’s Test career is concerned, he has played 14 Tests so far for Australia and has amassed 1459 runs at a stunning average of 63.43. He has also slammed four centuries including a double-century with a best score of 215. He will be keen on doing well in the crucial Test series against India and become a vital cog of the team going forward.

Here’s how Twitter trolled him
