US-based micro-blogging service provider Twitter has started testing the voice direct messaging (DM) feature in India. It is now available on both Android and iOS versions for mobiles only. Web-version will get it later in the coming months.
For now, users have to upgrade to the latest update on Twitter to use the voice DM on their mobiles. If you own an iPhone, the latest version (v8.53) was released last night (February 16).
On iPhone, go to App Store >> Type Twitter for iPhone >> tap on the Update button
On Android, go to Google Play >> Type Twitter >> tap on the Update button
Here’s how to send Voice DMs on Twitter
Step 1: Tap on DM (envelope icon) >> search the person you’d like to send a message
Step 2: Once the person is selected, tap on the violet-hued sine wave icon on the right side
Step 3: Users will get 140 seconds to record the audio. He/she can preview the content and tap on the send button
In June 2020, Twitter announced to bring voice-based tweets on its microblogging platform. However, it was limited to select global regions such as Brazil. It is expected to be rolled out in other countries in the coming months.
