Ever since its roll-out, Instagram ‘reels’ feature has become a major hit among the users. Now Facebook has revealed that it’s testing a feature on Instagram that will allow some content creators in India to share reels on their Facebook accounts.
As reported by Reuters, some Indian users who create the 30-second long reels on Instagram can have their videos appear on the Facebook news feed as well. In fact, Facebook is also planning to soon launch a reels-like feature on the app. “In India, we’re testing the ability for Instagram creators to choose to have their Reels recommended on Facebook… creators can reach new audiences and people can create and discover more entertaining content,” said a Facebook spokeswoman.
Instagram reels feature was launched shortly after the TikTok ban in India and just like TikTok, this feature lets users create fun videos to share with friends or anyone on Instagram. All that they need to record and edit short multi-clip videos with audio, effects, and new creative tools. People with a private account can create and share reels with their followers which then appears on Instagram feed. People with a public account can make their videos available to a wider audience and the entire Instagram community.

Reels showcases the best trending culture on Instagram. These include fun skits, lip-sync videos, dance, makeup tutorials, and more. As far as the TikTok ban in India is concerned, there’s no latest news of the Indian government announcing relaxation on the ban and it has been reported that TikTok’s parent company ByteDance is exploring selling TikTok’s India to a rival unicorn Glance.
