New Delhi: Comedian Vir Das landed in controversy for allegedly making anti-India comments in his monologue ‘I come from two Indias’, which he delivered as part of his performance in the US.
Netizens slammed the comedian for insulting India in the video clip wherein he could be seen saying, “I come from an India where we worship women during the day and gang-rape them during the night”.

The 42-year-old was mercilessly trolled for generalizing rape incidents, the evils of a few individuals and vilifying the nation as a whole. Netizens even dug out his old videos and tweets with derogatory remarks for women.
A twitter user Shefali Vaidya questioned Das as to why he has deleted some of his old tweets targeting women, along with the screen shots of the related tweets.
