NEW DELHI: Popular social media app Instagram is all set to give users a glimpse of this year gone by. The Facebook-owned app has introduced a new feature called Playback. The feature will enable Instagram users to relive their Stories from 2021.
As part of this feature, Instagram will share a curated Playback of 10 Stories for each user.
The photo-sharing app is also allowing users to edit, add or remove the Stories from their Playback list via their Stories archive. The Stories archive will pop-up within their Playback list.
Instagram users will see a message in their feed inviting them to create a Playback. Users can click on the ‘2021’ sticker if they want to view and share their Playback.
Here’s how you can share Instagram Playback
You will notice a message on top of your Instagram feed. The message is an invite to the users asking them to check out their Playback. You can enter the Playback customisation page from there and then follow the on-screen instructions and make your own Playback.
You are allowed to choose a maximum of 10 stories for their 2021 playback. You are also allowed to add links, stickers and other old Stories.
Recently, Instagram launched a new feature called ‘Take a Break’. As the name implies, the feature is set to make the user take a break from the app and also help them set reminders to prevent excessive usage of the app. There will also be expert-backed tips to help the teenagers “reflect and reset.”
The move has come just before the testimony of Instagram head Adam Mosseri this week about the danger kids are facing online and how to protect them. Instagram also plans to roll out a new tool for parents and guardians to monitor the amount of time being spent by their kids and wards on the app and set limits for them. The feature is set to come out in March.
