One of the legends of New Zealand cricket – Ross Taylor is playing his last Test against Bangladesh at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. Batting at number four, Taylor scored just 28 runs in the first innings of the second Test against Bangladesh. When he went out to bat in his final Test, he received a standing ovation from the Hagley Oval crowd and a guard of honor from the Bangladesh team. The veteran batsman was in tears during New Zealand’s national anthem ahead of his last Test.

Since making his debut in 2007, Taylor has played 112 Test matches for New Zealand and scored 7,684 runs, including 19 centuries and 35 half-centuries.
He was also part of the Blackcaps team that won the first World Test Championship final against India last year.
In the ongoing series, having lost the first match, New Zealand are in a commanding position in the second Test, taking a 395-run lead in the first innings.
The Kiwis posted a declared score of 521/6 in their first innings, with stand-in captain Tom Latham (252) scoring a brilliant double century and No. 3 batsman Devon Conway scoring 109.

Later, Trent Boult took a five-wicket haul to help the home team bowl out Bangladesh for 126 in the first innings. The pacer also completed his 300 wickets in the longest format on Monday.
Bangladesh have taken a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series against New Zealand.
