Twitter may soon allow users to co-author tweets with other accounts – Times of India

Micro-blogging platform Twitter is developing a feature that will allow users to co-author tweets with other accounts. This feature named “Collabs” will allow users to post a tweet on their behalf and someone else’s at the same time. This latest addition is all about collaboration and has the potential to make it to the platform. However, there is no official information about this feature being released to all users.
According to an XDA Developers report, some of the findings were discovered in a series of tweets. The report adds Twitter has been working on the co-authoring feature since December 2021. The company has not confirmed the eventual wide rollout of the feature, as it is still under development.
The feature will allow two accounts to collaborate on a particular tweet. But, there is a catch, as users have to send an invitation to the co-author — who must follow them and have a public Twitter account. The tweet will get posted on the timelines of both accounts and for both sets of followers to see the tweet after the invitation has been accepted. Moreover, the tweet will mention both authors and not just the original one.
The platform already allows its users to tag others in tweets and photos, but tags can’t be seen on the tweets on the tagged person’s timeline.
Twitter has continued to actively develop and implement new features in recent days. Some features are available for both free and paid users while some changes remain exclusive to Twitter Blue.
