Air Zimbabwe Banned From Flying To Europe

Dariro

Air Zimbabwe has been banned from flying to the European Union after it was added to the EU Air Safety List (ASL) due to concerns about international safety standards.

Following the 39th update of the ASL, Zimbabwe is now one of the 117 aircraft carriers banned from flying to or operating in Europe.

According to the European Union Commission, the banned aircraft carriers are as follows.

Mudiwa Hood Divides Zimbabweans With US$55 Wool Hats

Zimbabwean gospel rapper, socialite and businessman Mudiwa Hood has divided Zimbabweans on social media after launching his line of luxury wool hats.

The MH-branded wool hats are going for US$55 each.

Following the announcement on social media of the launch of the luxury MH wool hats, reactions from Zimbabweans on social media were mixed.

Some claimed that the hats were outrageously priced and compared prices with those in other countries. Others also accused the socialite of lying that the hats were “handmade.”

Others, however, defended the pricing arguing that hats are luxury items and only meant for a select few.

Africans Applaud Rwanda After Chinese businessman sentenced to 20 years for abusing employee

Africans across the continent have applauded the Rwanda court system after a Chinese businessman was sentenced to 20 years for abusing his employee.

Sun Shujun, a Chinese mine operator, made headlines for the wrong reasons after a video that showed him torturing a local man he had tied onto a cross went viral last year.

The court heard Shujun had done this kind of thing several times.

Given the chequered history of Chinese employers across the continent, many social media followers applauded the Rwandans for standing up for their workers and called on the governments to emulate them.

@hanisaibrahim1

Haaaaa here in uganda a foreigner can torture u n the government will say ‘dont disturb my investors’ ???so heartbreaking we aint protected in our country kudos to rwanda they took that step.

@muzbally

He should come to Zambia, they’ll give him immunity.

@sirtonymagabush

Ghana would have taken the bribe to set the culprit free. I always wanna visit Rwanda but I’m not an arsenal fan.

@LLunga18

He was gonna get 5 months in jail or fine if it was in South Africa

@Isabirye_

I hope Gov of Uganda picks something from this. It’s a free pass when it comes to Chinese being held accountable for their mistreatment of Ugandans.
