Shah Rukh Khan fans appear concerned about the actor’s comeback movie as a portion of social media users have started pushing for a boycott of SRK’s next movie Pathan. Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Bollywood flick Laal Singh Chaddha has suffered a lot of controversy on social media.
Shah Rukh Khan, known as the King of Bollywood, is seen speaking to a news program about “growing intolerance (in India)” in an old interview that social media users have uncovered. There is intolerance, there is extreme intolerance, and I think there is growing intolerance, the actor is heard saying in response to the journalist’s question, “Do you believe there is a growing intolerance?”
A clip of this old interview has been going viral on social media and netizens have been calling for a boycott of SRK’s film Pathaan with the hashtag #BoycottPathanMovie.
SRK, who has a sizable social media fan base, has not responded to the call for a boycott of Hindi movies. But in the midst of #BoycottPathanMovie, his fans haven’t kept quiet and have taken action to quell the troll armies pushing for a boycott of Pathan.
Hindi films have been underperforming one after another at the box office, and SRK fans have been tweeting about how “India Awaits Pathan.” Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan, starring Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar, respectively, are the two most recent duds. Shah Rukh Khan’s fans also trended #PathaanFirstDayFirstShow on Twitter in response to the current state of affairs in Bollywood, where huge films aren’t receiving a positive reception from the public and in order to support the actor’s comeback film while pointing out how secular SRK is.
