Jenny Ramp stuns in ‘kulasisi’ fauna outfit for Miss Earth 2022

MANILA, Philippines – Miss Earth Philippines 2022 Jenny Ramp made waves on social media with her kulasisi-inspired look for the fauna outfit segment of the Miss Earth competition.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, October 29, Jenny elaborated that the kulasisi, or the Philippine hanging parrot, is known for its “striking green plumage, with its forehead, throat, and lower back tinged with red, and cheeks tinged with blue.”

Jenny also wrote that the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has classified the species as “critically endangered,” and is facing “extremely high risk of extinction” due to illegal wildlife trade and habitat destruction. 

She added that having a unique theme for the fauna segment of the pageant is “vital in creating awareness of all animals around us and their significance in our lives.”

According to the Miss Earth organization, this segment is where the candidates “unleash their animal within.” 

The organization announced that the virtual audience can take part in the judging process by reacting, liking, and sharing their favorite fauna outfit photos. 

The winner of the fauna outfit competition will be announced on the Miss Earth 2022 pageant night happening on November 29 at Okada, Parañaque City, Philippines. Belize’s Destiny Wagner is set to crown her successor.
