M&S axes popular item from ‘all’ UK stores and says ‘we are sorry’

Marks and Spencer has axed an “amazing and affordable” home essential leaving shoppers devastated. One shopper took to X to ask what had happened to the product and M&S have now responded – admitting it has been scrapped from stores.

Laura wrote: “What happened to your almond milk and vanilla hand wash? It was amazing and affordable and now it seems to have disappeared.” The reply from M&S on social media said: “Hello Laura. We discontinued this one a while ago I’m sorry.

“We still have a range of hand washes on Ocado here https://shorturl.at/3zgFC and in our stores.” The high street giant, which has stores in Birmingham, then added: “The Apothecary range is lovely. I hope you can find another you like just as much.”

“”Very sad as we have had m and s hand soap before and loved them”, a shopper replied. “”This is a very gentle handwash with a pleasant smell”,” another said. There are listings of the product on eBay with gushing reviews from shoppers.

A product description before the item was axed from M&S explains: “Keep out of reach of children. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. If contact with eyes occurs, rinse immediately with clean water. If swallowed, seek medical advice.”

“Product colour may change with time due to naturally derived ingredients.” It was made in China and the description added: “Storage: Store away from direct sunlight. Preparation and Usage: Directions for Use – Apply to hands and gently massage until absorbed.

Package Type: Tube.” “Good value, smells lovely, keeps my hands soft. Would buy again,” another review wrote. But in a one-star review, another sniped: “I thought how bad it can be, I bought it when it was on offer. The overbearing smell is causing me headache plus it does not moisturise the hands. It goes to the dustbin.”
