The health condition of Tamil film superstar Rajinikanth, admitted to a corporate hospital here late Monday night, is stable, and he is likely to undergo an elective procedure at the cath lab later in the day, a source said.

“His condition is stable following his admission for digestive discomfort. He will undergo an elective procedure in the cath lab to attend to the problem near his abdomen, and will be later shifted to a room,” a source at the hospital said.

A few days after taking world chess by storm, Indian chess Grandmaster D Gukesh was seen grooving to Manasilayo, a new hit song featuring Rajinikanth. Gukesh posted a video of his group dance on his Instagram handle.

He could be seen donning a red “kurta”, “veshti” and sunglasses. The video clip has attracted more than 300k likes and comments from several fans who are in awe of the Chennai-born chess player. “Bro casually dancing after winning Olympiad for India,” commented a social media user. “Moves on and off the board,” read another comment.

“Never thought we’d see chess grandmaster dancing before GTA 6,” another fan said. In April, Gukesh became the youngest challenger for the World Championship title later this year, after he won the prestigious Candidates tournament. He was 17 years old at that time and turned 18 in May. Gukesh and China’s Ding Liren will clash in Singapore from 20 November to 15 December for the coveted title and a prize fund of $2.50 million.

He looked at the recently-concluded Olympiad, where India won a historic gold, as an individual competition, ahead of the World Championship in November. “In the Olympiad, I took it as an individual event. I just wanted to perform well in this specific tournament. I am very happy with my performance and the team’s performance,” he had said.
