Former Malaysian prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who was rushed to hospital after he was found unconscious earlier on Feb 22, is now in stable condition.

His aide, Mr Azran Fitri Rahim, said Datuk Seri Ismail had fainted at home at around 2.30am due to high blood pressure.

“Thank God, his condition stabilised this afternoon and he is fully conscious. However, he still requires close monitoring by doctors at a hospital in Damansara.

“Doctors have also advised that he should not receive visitors for now until he fully recovers,” he said in an Instagram post on Feb 22.

He added that only close family members are allowed to visit the 65-year-old.

“Thank you to everyone who prayed for him to recover,” he added.

Earlier in the day, another aide, Mr Yuri Azhar Mazlan, said on Facebook: “Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri has been rushed to the Sunway Medical Centre Kota Damansara at 2.30am today.”

Attached to the post was a picture of Mr Ismail resting in a hospital bed.
