Nottinghamshire has a buzzing food and drink scene. We might be biased but we think it has the best restaurants, pubs and bars, cafes and takeaways in the country.

Whatever your appetite – whether it’s fish and chips, a spicy curry, Sunday roast, fine dining, an array of small plates that everyone can delve into or simply a delicious slice of cake – there’s something to tantalise all tastes and budgets and we want to celebrate that.

Food lovers can eat their way around the world in our county, sampling the flavours of America, Africa, Italy, Japan, Thailand, Turkey, Spain, Vietnam and of, course, the best of British. As for drinkers, we have an abundance of cosy pubs and cool bars serving real ales, craft beers, cocktails, wines, whiskies and gins in every flavour imaginable.

Here at Nottinghamshire Live, we’re very passionate about highlighting the best independent places to eat and drink. As everyone knows the hospitality has had, and still is having, a tumultuous time with ever-rising costs. Barely a week goes by without a shock closure.

With some incredible chefs and bartenders working their socks off every week to showcase remarkable dishes and tipples, we think they deserve recognition This is why we’ve launched Notts Bites, our new awards.

Now we need your help to find the winners. Nominations have opened, with four categories. The deadline is midnight on May 17, so don’t delay. Nominations left by comment below the story or on social media will not be counted – to be considered all nominations must be submitted on the relevant form below.

What we’ll need from you is to share the nomination forms far and wide – and tell us where you think is the best in that category. Once all the nominations are in we’ll draw up a shortlist of the most popular spots so people can vote for their favourite.
