Bradley Walsh and his son Barney concluded the sixth series of their ITV show, Breaking Dad, on Tuesday evening (May 6), ending their recent travels in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

The adventurous duo journeyed across Japan and Thailand this season, engaging in thrilling activities like sumo wrestling in Tokyo, taking a leap with bungee jumping in Gifu, racing go-karts in Osaka, and training in Muay Thai in Bangkok.

In the final episode, Barney set up an exhilarating jungle roller coaster ride. They also encountered the durian fruit, notorious for being the smelliest in the world. Bradley’s shock was more at its £36 price tag than at its notorious aroma or taste.

They also tackled a risky wooden go-kart challenge before reflecting on the show after yet another engaging episode. Bradley and Barney dove into nostalgia, discussing some of the most memorable moments from the six seasons.

Despite the heart-warming reminders of the past seasons, concerned fans took to social media, uneasy about what this nostalgic episode hinted at for the future of the show.

On X, formerly Twitter, one fan expressed, “Really hope this wasn’t the last series! I really enjoy watch Bradley and Barney’s adventures!! #breakingdad”.

There was palpable worry among the audience; one viewer commented, “Genuinely hope this isn’t the final episode of #BreakingDad that I’ve watched tonight, this father and son are great to watch together!” and another shared their sentiment saying, “Awww hope that isn’t the last series. Such an entertaining show.”

As of now, fans are in the dark about whether Bradley Walsh and his son Barney will be back for a seventh series, since ITV hasn’t made an official statement, reports the Express.

Bradley Walsh has graced our television screens since the late ’80s. He began his career presenting You Must Be Joking and subsequently showed his range with roles on Coronation Street, The Larkins, and Doctor Who.

Perhaps most famously, Walsh has become synonymous with the hit ITV quiz show The Chase, a role he has relished since its inception in 2009. Adding to his diverse TV portfolio, Bradley recently joined forces with his son Barney for the BBC’s fresh take on the classic show Gladiators.

Breaking Dad hit the screens in 2019 and quickly became a favourite among audiences. In an intimate chat on BBC’s Tommy Tiernan Show, Walsh couldn’t hide his enthusiasm for working alongside Barney.

He shared: “It’s one of the most wonderful things I’ve ever done because spending time with my lad. From the age of 18, he’s now 26 by the way, that’s how long the show’s been running, it was just extraordinary.”
