Louis Tomlinson sends three-word statement to Zara McDermott as fans go wild for ‘romance’

The former One Direction star shared his first public message to Zara since rumours about their new relationship began

Louis Tomlinson is signalling his and Zara McDermott’s reported romance is ‘Instagram official’ as he shared his first public message to her since rumours about their new relationship began.

The former One Direction star and the reality star-turned-documentary maker were first linked in early March as fans spotted Louis liking Zara’s social media posts, months after her split from ex-boyfriend Sam Thompson

Later the same month, Zara hit the headlines as it was reported that she is dating singer Louis. In April, the first pictures of the pair together emerged, with Zara and Louis seen on a stroll in Malibu.

They were spotted holding hands on their way to a lunch date at Soho Beach House, with Zara on a trip to the States while Louis divides his time between the US – where his son Freddy resides – and the UK.

Zara has since seemingly got the family approval as Louis sister’s were quick to respond to a number of pictures shared on Instagram last month, which included some from her recent trip to LA, but omitting any of her rumoured new boyfriend.

Captioning the string of pictures, in which she could be seen glowing while posing up a storm in the American sunshine as well as enjoying a family trip to Dubai to celebrate her parents 30th wedding anniversay, she said: “April you’ve been special.”

The Strictly Come Dancing 2023 contestant was quickly flooded with messages, including from Louis’ sisters, with Lottie simply posting a red heart emoji in the comments section while Phoebe shared a string of faces blowing a kiss emojis.

But now, Louis himself has cemented his own public support of Zara. The former Love Island and Strictly Come Dancing star took to Instagram on Wednesday (May 7) with a fresh update on her upcoming documentary for BBC Three.

Alongside pictures of her in the editing suite, Zara shared: “In the edit for my new series all about Thailand. I’m so unbelievably excited about this one. I can’t believe I’ve been making documentaries for 5 years now… every year that goes by I feel my confidence in front of the camera, in my producing (and in myself!!) growing so much [face holding back tears emoji].

“I feel really proud of this, of our amazing team for creating such a special series with so much depth to it, exploring some pretty serious topics but also capturing the fun too. I learnt SO much making this programme.”

She added: “I cannot wait [heart and face holding back tears emojis] @bbcthree (Thailand will be out later this year after my stalking documentary which will be out this summer).”

Louis was among the first to respond, simply typing in the comments section: “Proud of you x.” Zara simply replied with a red heart emoji and a string of kisses but it’s fair to say that the message quickly sent fans wild who racked up the responses to Louis’ post.

Louis’ sister Daisy also showed her backing for Zara by commenting on the post: “clever and beautiful,” to which Zara responded with a face holding back tears emoji and a red love heart.
