Liam Gallagher has issued an apology following a backlash over an offensive post on social media. The Oasis frontman voiced his regret after sharing a racial slur on X, formerly known as Twitter, which he swiftly deleted.

Posting his apology, Liam said: “Sorry if I offended anyone with my tweet before it wasn’t intentional you know I love you all and I do not discriminate. Peace and love LG x”. On Tuesday, July 1, the vocalist unleashed a flurry of tweets including words like ‘slingding’ and ‘lip lip’. Yet, it was his use of a derisive expression mocking East Asian languages that sparked criticism from social media users.

Some followers were quick to condemn the remark, responding directly with comments such as “Liam, you can’t say that”, reports Wales Online. Subsequent to the offending tweet, in a contrite follow-up message, fans advised the star: “Nice one Liam. Be a bit more mindful next time eh?”.

This episode unfolded as Liam prepares to reunite with brother Noel Gallagher for Oasis’s highly-anticipated comeback tour. The Live ’25 tour is set to mark the first onstage reunion of the siblings in 16 years, following the band’s tumultuous split in 2009.

Kicking off in Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Friday, July 4, the tour will continue with another show at the same venue on Saturday, July 5. Following the two dates in Cardiff, the band are returning back to where it all began, with no fewer than five dates in Manchester’s Heaton Park, before heading down to London for five more shows at Wembley Stadium.

The group will then travel north of the border for three nights at Murrayfield in Edinburgh before a trip across the Irish Sea for two dates at Croke Park in Dublin. After taking the tour oversees to Canada, the United States and Mexico, the band will return for the UK’s final dates in Wembley on September 27 and 28.

They then travel to South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, and Chile, before closing the tour with two dates in Brazil in November. Anyone going to the Cardiff shows should be aware that the Principality Stadium’s regulations strictly forbid smoking except in designated spaces.

Anyone breaking the rules risks being thrown out. Gig-goers are also being advised to be aware of the rules around personal belongings in the stadium. Only small bags and handbags are permitted inside the stadium. These must not exceed the dimensions of 35cm x 40cm x 19cm, reports Wales Online.
