American fast-food chain Wingstop will open in Coventry in September. It will be in the Upper Precinct next to Sports Direct.
@CovCityCentre on Facebook and TikTok released a video titled ‘When does Wingstop Coventry open?’ with the caption, “@wingstopuk is coming to Coventry. September 2025. See you all there.”
The announcement sparked a lot of traction online, with one person saying, ‘You’ll be catching me there more than three times a week’ and another adding, ‘I know it’s going to be packed in there daily’.

Construction is starting to take shape as Wingstop gets set to open. The building between Sports Direct and Flannels is now all covered in dark green, with posters across saying ‘we run the wing game’ and ‘Coventry flavour incoming’. The franchise has built a strong reputation across the UK, with two stores in neighbouring Birmingham
Wingstop is a fast-food restaurant specialising in chicken wings. Customers can choose various flavours for their meals, including crispy tenders, boneless wings, and classic wings. The chain also offers burgers, milkshakes, and loaded fries. The flavours include hot honey glaze, Brazilian citrus pepper, garlic parmesan, lemon pepper, Louisiana rub, and more.
Wingstop was established in 1994 in Garland, Texas, as a buffalo-style chicken restaurant. The franchise says they are the destination where you ‘crave fresh never-faked wings’ and is for people who ‘demand flavour in everything they do’. The chain has over 1,500 restaurants including the UAE, Malaysia, Mexico, the United States and Indonesia.
CoventryLive has contacted Wingstop for an official date of the opening in September.
