Manulife Philippines, the local arm of global financial services giant Manulife, bagged two major honors at the Insurance Asia Awards 2025 in Singapore on July 8—Mobile App of the Year for the Manulife App and Marketing Initiative of the Year for the Manulife Stories campaign.
Launched in 2023, the Manulife App allows customers to manage their policies anytime, anywhere. Designed for today’s digital-first users, it features biometric login, push notifications, online payments, real-time VUL fund valuations, and instant contact info updates.
The app has seen nearly 70 percent adoption, holds a 4.7-star rating on iOS and Android, and boosted operational efficiency with a 32 percent rise in straight-through processing from 2023 to 2024.
“The Manulife App simplifies insurance and empowers Filipinos to take control of their policies,” said Sonali Verma, Chief Marketing Officer. “This year, we’re rolling out Fund Switch and Universal Submission to enhance the experience further.”
The Manulife Stories campaign, launched in 2024, earned praise for its creative and heartfelt approach to brand storytelling. The campaign featured real customer journeys and how insurance helped them through life’s milestones.
Driven by a mobile- and video-first approach and amplified across social media, the campaign earned over 100 million impressions and a 20-point lift in ad recall, surpassing industry and regional benchmarks.
The Insurance Asia Awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the region’s insurance industry, recognizing companies that lead in digital transformation and customer engagement.
