MANILA, Philippines — More classes were suspended in Metro Manila on Friday due to the expected rains throughout the day as “Crising” intensified into a tropical storm.
Pasig and Pasay were the latest to announce class suspensions.after most of the local governments posted theirs on social media Thursday night.
Manila, however, said classes will push through as rainfall in the city was light.
On his Facebook page, Mayor Isko Moreno also visited the city’s disaster and risk management council and said there was no flooding in the city.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) late on Thursday posted a list of class suspensions:
1. Valenzuela – online and in-person classes for kinder to senior high school (public and private); online and in-person classes for Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela & Valenzuela City Technological College
2. Malabon – online and in-person classes in all levels (public and private)
3. Taguig – in-person classes from Kinder to Grade 12 (public and private)
4. Marikina – in-person classes in all levels (public and private)
5. Caloocan – in-person classes in all levels (public and private)
6. Parañaque – in-person classes in all levels (public and private)
7. San Juan – in-person classes in all levels (public and private)
8. Mandaluyong – in-person classes in all levels (public and private)
9. Pateros – in-person classes in all levels (public and private)
10. Las Piñas – in-person classes in all levels (public and private)
11. Muntinlupa – in-person classes in all levels (public and private)
12. Pasay – in-person classes in all levels (public and private)
13. Pasig – in-person classes from Kinder to Senior High School, including Early Childhood Care Development Centers and Alternative Learning System (public and private)
