Get ready for a breathtaking spectacle as Asia’s finest figure skaters take center stage at the Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy 2025, happening from August 1 to 5, 2025 at SM Skating Mall of Asia in Manila.
Sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU) and the Asian Skating Union (ASU), this prestigious event marks the start of the 2026 Winter Olympic season and brings together over 170 athletes from 19 countries. Expect stunning performances and fierce competition from figure skating powerhouses such as South Korea, China, and Kazakhstan, alongside rising stars from Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
Hosted by the Philippine Skating Union (PHSU) supported by ISU Development Commission, Philippine Sports Commission and Milo, the event underscores the Philippines’ growing capability to stage world-class international sporting events while highlighting the nation’s signature warmth and hospitality.
“This is a rare chance to see the Philippines’ top figure skating prospects compete on home ice—and the stakes are high,” says Nikki Cheng, President of the Philippine Skating Union. She also added that for Filipino skaters, the Asian Open serves as a national selection event for both the 2026 Olympic Qualifier Pool and the 2025 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
“This tournament showcases the extraordinary talent and dedication of our region’s figure skaters, promoting unity and camaraderie among nations,” says Joseph Silva, Senior Assistant Vice President of SM Skating. “We invite everyone to experience the grace and excitement of figure skating and support these remarkable athletes.”
Admission is only P150 on a first-come, first-served basis —so mark your calendars and witness world-class athleticism, artistry, and unforgettable moments on the ice.
