CANON Philippines unveiled the EOS R50 V, PowerShot V1 and PowerShot V10 — three groundbreaking products that represent the launch of Canon’s new video-focused camera lineup: the EOS / PowerShot V Series.
These cutting-edge cameras supplement Canon’s existing product portfolio with new video-centered features specifically designed to address the needs of a new generation of creators.
The launch event at Midnight Dream Studios, Glorietta 1 brought together over 100 media personalities, influencers and content creators, who experienced hands-on demonstrations across seven specialized areas: livestream, podcast, GRWM (get ready with me), unboxing, food content, lifestyle and video editing.
Video-first platforms such as TikTok have transformed content creation, with creators now prioritizing dynamic video over traditional photography. However, many Filipino creators still rely primarily on smartphones, which can limit video quality and creative control. Canon, thus, identified a key opportunity to boost production quality with user-friendly cameras tailored for today’s digital storytellers.
“Filipino creators have a strong enthusiasm for capturing life’s moments and producing engaging video content,” said Jian Liu, Canon Philippines director for Consumer Information and Imaging.
“With the EOS R50 V and PowerShot V1, they can enjoy a blend of portability, intuitive controls and high-end performance. Whether they’re vlogging, live streaming or making short films, Filipinos can now tell their stories more powerfully, thanks to the reliability and innovation Canon is known for.”
Professional power and creator-friendly features
The EOS R50 V features a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor similar to those found in Super 35mm cinema cameras, bringing professional filmmaking capabilities to creators. Cinema EOS features such as Custom Pictures, LUTs and HDR recording modes deliver high-quality results. Advanced capabilities include 4K 60p live streaming via USB-C and professional audio with 3-mic noise reduction technology. Its design includes a streamlined, viewfinder-less body optimized for handheld shooting, gimbal compatibility and vertical video recording perfect for social media content.
The camera pairs well with the compact RF-S14-30mm f/4-6.3 IS STM PZ, Canon’s first lens with built-in power zooming, which has 15 customizable zoom speeds.
Meanwhile, Canon’s first video-centric compact camera, the PowerShot V1, combines a large 1.4-inch sensor with an integrated zoom lens covering 16–50mm equivalent. The built-in 3-stop ND filter and Subject Tracking IS ensure professional-quality footage in any shooting condition. The camera’s internal cooling fan enables extended recording sessions up to six hours.
Both cameras support 10-bit Canon Log 3 recording for professional color grading, while enhanced connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and direct PC streaming capabilities.
