Rufa Mae Quinto pleads for discretion for the sake of her child

MANILA, Philippines — Actress Rufa Mae Quinto has once again appealed for privacy after the death of her husband, Trevor Magallanes. This time she urged internet users to consider their daughter, eight-year-old Athena.

“For the sake of our daughter, Athena, please refrain from spreading unverified information that she can access through social media,” Quinto wrote in a Facebook account on Saturday morning.

She thanked everyone who sent messages of sympathy and reminded the public to be sensitive during what she described as an “emotionally difficult period.”

“I kindly ask that you do not use this incident merely for the sake of creating ‘content.’ As the wife of Trev, all information surrounding his passing will come from me. I can only share details at the appropriate time,” she wrote.

Quinto encouraged the public to instead “remember the good times” they shared with her husband.

Earlier, the comedienne also clarified that she and Magallanes were still legally married, despite his statement in December 2024 that they were in the process of getting a divorce. At the time of his death, Magallanes was based in the United States.

“Trevor and I are still married; neither of us filed for annulment. We got married here in the Philippines on November 25, 2016,” Quinto wrote, alongside a copy of their wedding video.

Quinto confirmed Magallanes’ sudden passing on July 31.
