For five years, Channel 5 has had viewers hooked with its period drama All Creatures Great and Small. Although the series is a reboot of the original, which was first released at the end of the 1970s, the programme has gained a huge following over the years since it began in 2020.
Set in the fictional village of Darrowby, the show follows the life of vet James Herriot (played by Nicholas Ralf) in the Yorkshire Dales and the trials and tribulations he faces while adapting to Yorkshire life. Over the past few series, fans have seen James settle into farm life as he married Helen Alderson (Rachel Shenton), and had his first baby, all while coping with the changes in the world around them, including the start of World War II.
Since his arrival in the village, James has grown close to the other characters in Darrowby, including Siegfried Farnon (Samuel West), Mrs Hall (Anna Madeley) and Tristan Farnon (Callum Woodhouse), who recently sparked exit fears after a one-word response.

At the end of series 5, viewers saw the entire family at Skeldale House rally around Mrs Hall after she was told her son, Edward, was injured when his ship was sunk by Japan.
This left people wondering what lies ahead for Mrs Hall, especially after Channel 5 released a new video on their social media. The clip features members of the cast, ahead of series 6, asking them to summarise each series with one word.
They wrote: “The wonderful @allcreaturestv cast shared their one-word summaries for each series, and honestly, their responses are as heartwarming as the show itself [sic].”
In the short video, only four actors were featured, with Anna Madeley, who plays Mrs Hall, noticeably absent.
It wasn’t long before people commented on the video, with many fearing an exit was on the cards.
One person asked: “Is Mrs. Hall gone?” Another said: “Excited!!!! Missing Anna in this though.”
Someone else wrote: “How lovely! But where is Mrs. H?” While one fan begged: “This is lovely. Please give us Anna, too, though. Can’t wait for s6.”
Luckily, there’s good news for fans as Channel 5’s official X account replied to many worried viewers, confirming Mrs Hall’s return.
They replied to one person, commenting: “Oh, don’t you worry, Mrs Hall will be there right on time when the new series starts.”
In another response, they assured someone else by commenting: “Don’t worry, Mrs Hall is very much with us.”
Although it’s not confirmed when series six will air, they teased that a release date would be ‘soon’, promising it isn’t too far away.
