MANILA, Philippines — Galeries Tower and head coach Lerma Giron have parted ways, with the team confirming the news in a social media announcement.
The Highrisers recognized the contributions of head coach Lerma Giron, who has been with the team since 2023.
“Thank you, Coach Lerma Gómez Giron,” the team wrote in its socials on Friday afternoon.
”Your time with the Highrisers has been filled with lessons, discipline, and passion that have shaped us into a stronger team. We’re grateful for the dedication you poured into every training, every game, and every player who wore the jersey,” Galeries wrote on its socials on Friday afternoon.
“As we move forward into a new chapter, we carry the values and hustle you instilled in us. This isn’t goodbye, it’s a thank you for being part of our journey.”
Giron propelled the team to its first-ever quarterfinals appearance in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference after a stunning victory over veteran team Cignal.
However, during the 2025 PVL On Tour, Galeries finished with no wins.
The head coach tallied a 6-44 win-loss card in her two-year stay with the Galeries.
The Highrisers, meanwhile, have yet to reveal their new head tactician as they gear up for the 2024 Reinforced Conference. NICOLE ANNE BUGAUISAN
