Donald Trump LIVE: President to visit Chequers after Nigel Farage’s childish rant
Donald Trump will be joining Keir Starmer for a vitally important press conference today following the chaos and scandals that have plagued him recently, including the loss of his Ambassador to the US Peter Mandelson – who was exposed for his friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The US President attended a state banquet last night with King Charles, who spoke of the “enduring bond” between the UK and US, while Trump described his UK visit as “one of the highest honours of my life”. His final day will begin with a farewell from the King at Windsor Castle before he heads to Chequers for crunch talks with Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Melania Trump will meanwhile join Queen Camilla for a tour of Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House and Windsor’s Royal Library, followed by a visit to Frogmore Gardens with Princess Kate.

King’s two-word reaction as Trump goes ‘off-script’ at banquet
During the speech, Trump, 79, appeared to go off-script by making a number of political remarks, something not seen as normal protocol during state banquets. That’s especially if the monarch is present, but with his script in hand, Trump suddenly appeared to take aim against his predecessor Joe Biden.

He continued: “We had a very…sick country one year ago, and today I believe we’re the hottest country anywhere in the world. In fact, nobody’s even questioning it…but we owe so much of that to you.”

Potential for clashes in today’s Starmer-Trump meeting
Keir Starmer and Donald Trump share a good relationship, but the potential for disagreement remains.
This weekend, the UK is expected to recognise a Palestinian state – a move the White House fiercly disagrees with, arguing it would reward terrorism and encourage Israel to annex parts of the West Bank.
The UK has also shown consistent support for Kyiv while Trump has displayed an on-off support for Ukraine’s President Zelensky and the opposite for Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin.

The meeting comes shortly after the UK’s ambassador to the United States, Lord Mandelson, was sacked after his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein was uncovered. The convicted sex offender was also friends with the US President and the King’s brother Prince Andrew. The PM may be flooded with questions about this during today’s press conference.
The two leaders are expected to discuss “a historic £150bn of inward investment from US companies” to the UK. The Business and Trade Department says the move will create over 7,600 jobs “in all areas of the UK”, and the package “reflects the scale of ambition shared by both nations”.

Nigel Farage’s childish rant after being snubbed from Donald Trump state banquet
Nigel Farage has claimed he doesn’t “really care” he wasn’t invited to the lavish state banquet put on for Donald Trump – as he ranted about his closeness to senior Republicans.
The Reform UK leader blamed Keir Starmer for not getting a seat at the table and whined that the Prime Minister “wants to pretend that I don’t exist”. The brazen politician also said it was a “great shame” he hadn’t been offered the job of Ambassador to the US – though admitted he wouldn’t accept the imaginary offer now he’s a party leader – and said Mr Trump knows he’d win an election if it was held today.

Asked for his reaction to being “snubbed” at last night’s Windsor Castle banquet, Mr Farage said: “I don’t expect anything from this government at all, and you can argue, if you like, it’s the King’s invitation. It’s not really, is it? No, Starmer wants to pretend that I don’t exist.”

Trump says he will designate ‘Antifa’ as a terrorist organisation
Despite a packed schedule in the UK this week, Trump has still found time to post on social media – including a rant on Truth Social where he said he pledged to designate ‘Antifa’ as a “major” terrorist organisation.
The US President said he is taking action against left-wing groups, specifically the anti-fascist “antifa” movement.
He wrote: “I am pleased to inform our many U.S.A. Patriots that I am designating ANTIFA, A SICK, DANGEROUS, RADICAL LEFT DISASTER, AS A MAJOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATION.
“I will also be strongly recommending that those funding ANTIFA be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the highest legal standards and practices. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Experts say Antifa is a loosely organised ideological movement with no clear leadership structure or hierarchy.

Three awkward subjects that could come up as Trump meets Starmer
Donald Trump will visit Keir Starmer at Chequers today – but this meeting has the potential to provoke some awkward conversations between the two friendly leaders.
Trump will be fresh from the pomp and circumstance of a lavish visit to Windsor Castle with the King, where he was ferried around in a gold trimmed horse drawn carriage and greeted by bearskin hat-wearing honour guards.

Trump celebrates axing of Jimmy Kimmel show while staying in Windsor
While staying at Windsor, Donald Trump posted from Truth Social to celebrate the axing of Jimmy Kimmel Live, calling the TV host a “total loser”.
He posted on Truth Social: “Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT.”
ABC pulled the late-night host off air indefinitely over comments he made about the shooting of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk. In his Monday night monologue, Kimmel said: “The Maga Gang desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”
He also mocked Trump’s reaction to the shooting after the president mentioned his White House ballroom when asked about Kirk’s killing. “This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he calls a friend. This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish,” Kimmel said.

‘Our people fought and died together for values we hold dear’
In his address to the banquet, concluded moments before Trump began speaking, King Charles spoke of the “enduring bond” between the British and American people.
He said: “Our people have fought and died together for the values we hold dear. We have innovated, traded and created together, fuelling our economies and cultures through myriad forms of exchange.
“We have celebrated together, mourned together and stood together in the best and worst of times.
He went on: “Today, our alliance spans every field of endeavour and shows vast potential for growth. The United Kingdom was your partner in the first trade deal of your Administration, Mr President, bringing jobs and growth to both our countries. And no doubt we can go even further as we build this new era of our partnership.
“Our two nations have an exceptional legacy of shared discovery. Together, we laid the foundations of nuclear science, mapped the human genome and built the internet, upon which all contemporary commerce, communication and defence is based.
“Together, our scientists and engineers are shaping the world of tomorrow, not least with new partnership agreements on technology, and the prosperity that stands to bring.”

The US president spoke glowingly of the King, describing him as a “very, very special man”, and told Princess Kate, who was sitting next to him, that she was “so radiant and so healthy and so beautiful”.
Earlier in the day, Trump appeared to tell the Princess of Wales “you’re so beautiful, so beautiful” as she greeted him and the First Lady at Victoria House with the Prince of Wales at the start of the historic second state visit.

Trump goes embarrassingly off-script & launches political attack in front of the King
Donald Trump went embarrassingly off-script during his state banquet speech, launching a political attack in front of the King in a major breach of protocol.
And in apparently scripted remarks, the US President referred to “free speech” and said the “Union Jack is ever flown” – which many will see as political references to UK domestic politics.
The US President was speaking at a lavish state dinner in his honour at Windsor Castle, marking his second state visit to the UK.
Speaking publicly for the first time since arriving in the UK, Trump apparently veered away from his prepared remarks, turning to the King and saying: “We are, as a country, as you know, doing unbelievably well.”
Attacking his predecessor Joe Biden, he went on: “We had a very…sick country one year ago, and today I believe we’re the hottest country anywhere in the world. In fact, nobody’s even questioning it…but we owe so much of that to you.”
It’s considered against diplomatic protocol for a visiting head of state to make partisan or controversial political remarks during a speech at a state banquet – particularly when the monarch is present.
