“We are truly touched and humbled by the outpouring of love, support, and presence from all of you during this painful period. Your care has been a light in our darkest days,” Wong expressed in a touching message shared on social media following her daughter’s final farewell ceremony on Monday.
The message, which accompanied an AI-generated video of Yap smiling and waving goodbye, underscored the family’s mix of “grief and gratitude”.

She also acknowledged the presence and comfort offered by members of parliament and members of all communities, regardless of race and background, who stood by the family to honour her daughter’s memory.
