Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has once again become the talk of the internet after announcing his new role as a columnist for The Sunday Times. Since leaving the PM’s office, he has stayed active as he first joined Goldman Sachs earlier this year and is now stepping into journalism. His latest career move caught social media’s attention, as users made jokes about him juggling multiple jobs. Many linked Sunak’s work philosophy with his father-in-law, Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, who previously faced criticism for promoting a 70-hour work week.

Sunak’s work will include writing a weekly Business column for the news outlet. While a few people praised him for staying active after leaving politics, others couldn’t resist making jokes about his packed schedule. Some teased that he might be taking his father-in-law’s advice about long work hours a little too seriously. Others added humour by saying Sunak will be taking over more jobs than artificial intelligence (AI).

Narayana Murthy, in a discussion with former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai, explained that India needs to improve its work productivity to compete with countries like Japan and China. He pointed out that India’s workforce was less productive compared to these nations. To reach that level, he suggested that young people should be willing to work 70 hours a week, to help India grow.
