Mexico’s Fatima Bosch was crowned Miss Universe 2025 on Saturday night, securing a landmark victory after a turbulent yet inspiring journey that captivated audiences around the world. The pageant, held in Thailand, showcased fierce competition, emotional performances, and a finale that will be remembered for Fatima’s poise, conviction, and powerful message on women’s empowerment.

Fatima, whose path to the crown included moments of controversy and personal challenge, delivered one of the most applauded performances of the evening. Despite reports of behind-the-scenes tension and brief walkouts during rehearsals earlier in the week, the Mexican representative returned to the stage with renewed energy, ultimately turning adversity into strength.

The first question posed to the finalists asked her what were the challenge of being a woman in 2025. Fatima responded with confidence and clarity, emphasising the responsibility of women in leadership and the importance of platforms like Miss Universe. “Women who move forward with courage are the ones who make history,” she said, prompting a thunderous reaction from the audience.

She further highlighted the role of global visibility in advocating for women’s safety and rights, stating that public figures must use their influence to amplify voices that often go unheard.

The second, and the most defining, question posed at her was, “If you win the title of Miss Universe 2025 tonight, how would you use this platform to empower young girls?”

Her answer was equally resonant. “Believe in the power of your authenticity. Believe in yourself, your dreams and your heart, and never let anyone make you doubt your worth, because you are worth everything and you are powerful and your voice needs to be heard,” she replied.

These responses were widely praised across social media and by attendees who described her delivery as “the defining moment of the night”.

Fatima’s road to the crown was not without challenges. Pageant observers noted that her participation became the centre of attention earlier in the week after a reported dispute involving promotional commitments and backstage tensions. According to local media coverage, the situation escalated briefly before organisers issued a public clarification and apology. Fatima returned to rehearsals shortly afterward, earning admiration for her composure. Her ability to remain focused, contestants said, demonstrated “unshakable professionalism”.

While Fatima took the crown, India’s representative, Manika Vishwakarma, also left a mark on the competition. Born in 2003 in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, Manika’s journey began with regional competitions, winning Miss Universe Rajasthan 2024 and later Miss Universe India 2025, earning the right to represent India on the global stage. At the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand, Manika reached the Top 30 and competed in the swimsuit round alongside contestants from around the world. Though she did not advance to the Top 12, her participation continued India’s strong Miss Universe legacy with grace and confidence.

Manika is also the founder of Neuronova, an initiative promoting awareness of neurodivergence. Her views on women’s education went viral during the national competition, demonstrating her thoughtful and articulate presence.

With Fatima’s victory and Manika’s representation, the 2025 pageant highlighted not only fierce competition but also the inspiring stories of women using their platforms to advocate for change, resilience, and empowerment.

With her win, Fatima Bosch becomes not only Mexico’s newest Miss Universe titleholder but also a symbol of resilience for young women around the globe. Fans and supporters celebrated her message of courage, authenticity, and perseverance, qualities she displayed consistently throughout the competition.
