DURING the recently concluded Strategic Alliance on Global Market Trading and Expansion workshop, held at Luxent Hotel on November 22, in collaboration with Alibaba.com, Khelvin Cruz, CEO of KPC Importation Services, and Co-Founder Mary Cruz highlighted the company’s milestones and shared its history, emphasizing its pivotal role in empowering Filipino entrepreneurs to navigate global trade.
Community support during the pandemic
In 2020, in response to the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, KPC launched the Filipino Importers Club on Facebook. The initiative provided guidance and training to individuals who had lost their jobs, helping them establish sustainable livelihoods through importation and entrepreneurship.
“Noong 2020, gumawa kami ng Facebook Page, Filipino Importers Club. Nagturo kami sa mga tao kung paano sila magkakaroon ng kabuhayan during pandemic, at masaya kami na maraming natulungan ang KPC na mga nawalan ng work at ngayon mga successful negosyante,” shared Cruz.
Celebrating growth and achievements
Since its founding, KPC has served over 100,000 business owners, maintaining its position as the Philippines’ top and leading forwarder for entrepreneurs.
Cruz highlighted the efficiency of KPC’s logistics operations, including the launch of a mobile app, opportunities for Filipino entrepreneurs to attend the Canton Fair, and access to free seminars.
“With regards to your shipment, daily umaalis yung container vans natin sa China dahil mabilis itong napupuno, hindi tulad sa iba na umaabot ng weekly o monthly,” added Cruz.
Importation tips from industry leaders
Anna Magkawas, CEO of Luxe Beauty & Wellness Group, shared practical advice for entrepreneurs navigating importation. She emphasized testing the market first by starting with small quantities before ordering in bulk, ensuring businesses understand demand and minimize risk.
She also highlighted the value of branding, encouraging entrepreneurs to create a strong brand identity that resonates with their target market and to package products intentionally to differentiate themselves in the marketplace.
The hands-on workshop concluded with practical guidance for entrepreneurs on successfully sourcing products via Alibaba, mastering the step-by-step importation process with KPC, and learning strategies to grow their businesses efficiently.
